Judge's Comment
I chose this winner for two reasons.
Reason 1: Wing kei Cheng's use of the color yellow is a very interesting choice to me as the color is known to be associated with joy, happiness and intellect. In addition, their choice of season made me think of fall, which for me, is associated with change. Snails are known for being slow. I wondered if all of these elements were strategic choices to mean that although change is sometimes slow, it does eventually come, and with that, hopefully, joy and happiness will follow. I think that's very inciteful.
Reason 2: I liked the outfit and his blue mohawk!

Judge's Comment
Ketsaraporn's artwork resonated with me because when I saw it, I felt happiness and optimism in its beauty.
The artwork itself felt very colorful, yet still uniformed by the use of green, which felt fun yet peaceful. I think often, in these times, it's easy to fall into a sense of pessimism, depression and destruction.
To be reminded that positivity, light and nature's wonders can still be the focus for our future brings me comfort.
I'm happy that young minds can find joy in the world and what the unknown future can bring us with a sense of a fairytale whimsy.
